WP5: Piloting

Led by Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), with FH Salzburg leading the train-the-trainers activity

35 trainers from 6 partner countries trained in Salzburg and 180 participants enrolled in the national pilots. Each partner university established a contact point, and the project produced a recommendations report with a 12-month roadmap for HEIs.

Scope

  • Selection of participants for the pilots
  • Teacher training academy / train-the-trainers activity in Austria
  • Pilots in participating HEIs and validation through internal workshops
  • Recommendations report for HEIs

Objectives

To test the training materials and digital tools in real university settings, train multipliers, and provide a roadmap for institutional adoption.

Tasks and results

Task 5.1 — Selection of participants for the pilots

  • Selection process: a common process created and agreed among all partners.

Task 5.2 — Teacher training academy / train-the-trainers activity in Austria

  • Pilot training session hosted by FH Salzburg (2–4 December 2025) with 35 participants from 6 partner countries. It included a World Café, the “Neustart” workshop, and a field trip to the “Gewaltschutzschirm” (Protective Shield Against Violence).

Task 5.3 — Pilots in participating HEIs and validation through internal workshops

  • National pilots: 180 participants enrolled on the online course across partner institutions. Internal workshops validated the materials and established one dedicated contact point inside each university.
  • Quality Report of Piloting Activities (D5.1): assessment of the piloting phase, including the pre/post MOOC questionnaires and World Café findings.

Task 5.4 — Recommendations report for HEIs

  • Report on Recommendations (D5.2): a comprehensive practical guide for institutional adoption, adaptation, and mainstreaming, including a 12-month operational action plan and a readiness checklist.

What has been achieved

WP5 successfully validated the PREV-HED tools in real-world settings. A 3-day intensive pilot in Salzburg brought together 35 experts for peer review, while the national pilots engaged 180 learners. The iterative feedback loop led to direct improvements in the training modules, such as increasing interactivity, harmonising legal references, and refining terminology. The final output is a robust set of recommendations and a 12-month implementation roadmap for other universities.

Who benefited

The 35 pilot participants (academic staff, researchers, technical experts, and students) provided critical feedback that shaped the final tools. The 180 national pilot participants gained practical training and certification, and the partner HEIs established dedicated contact points and validated the programme in their own contexts.

Why the results are useful

WP5 proves that the PREV-HED model works in practice. The D5.2 Recommendations report provides a clear, evidence-based framework — including operational templates for “Purple Points” and a phased implementation schedule — that any university can follow to successfully adopt and sustain the programme.
